Walls and Fences

Here are the different ways that I know how to make walls and fences, please click on which one you would like to view....

Making Walls with....

USING SHEETS OF WHITE OR PINK FOAM
using foam is the best way to get a wall to look like anything you want. For example, a brick wall, old barn wall, large chunks of stone wall, etc. You can use these outside because, unlike cardboard they can get wet. Because there are many techniques and ways to use foam I have made a separate page for it. Please click HERE to goto the FOAM page.

CARDBOARD
great inside, works outside but, doesn't like wind or wet. Just tape big sheets of cardboard together. You can spray paint them or cut shapes out of the cardboard and then place a colored light behind to light them up.

WOOD POLES AND BLACK PLASTIC
Ok get some medium size cardboard boxes at least 12" square & 6" tall, and some 2" x 2" wood poles, make sure they are as long as you want your wall tall, and a couple of bags of quick cement. Make sure you have someone to assist you when making these. Now grab a bag of quick cement, mix as directed on bag, set aside for a minute. Have your assistant hold one of the 2 x 2's into the center of the cardboard box then pour at least 5 inches of cement into the box, make sure to hold the wood pole still for a few minutes untill the cement sets, then let sit undisturbed for 30 to an hour to cure. Repeat again and again until you have enough poles to make your fence as long as you wish. When all finished and all your cement poles have cured, place where you want your fence and then wrap with black plastic, now where the plastic and the wood meet I place a piece of duct tape and by using a staple gun I staple the plastic to the pole, just to make it more secure. And your finished!
* Very sturdy and portable, you can move or put this wall anywhere, make as tall or short as you want and even wrap around curves, make it zig zag, straight or whatever design you choose, an added effect is to put slashes into the plastic then have a colored light shining from behind. COOL!

12 PACK SODA BOXES
glue these together with leaving a space ( like one is missing ) in between each one then spray paint and put a light behind.

Making Fences with....

CAUTION TAPE
use this to just section off or limit how close your visitiors can get to your scenes and props. Wrap from tree to tree or put a stick or metal rod in the ground to wrap around, to section off where you don't want visitors to get to.

SCRAP WOOD, THICK BRANCES OR 1"X 1" THIN WOOD
no matter which one you choose to use, just use one of the patterns in the PICTURE BELOW and nail together. To help them stand up by themselves cut a 2"x 4" into small sections and nail them to the bottom going outward.
