History:

The Monster Zone originally started in Lincoln, Nebraska. in 1998. It has been a FREE Haunt and everyone is welcome of course as our yearly $ input keeps increasing this may change in the future. In Lincoln it operated in two different locations. The first being at my parents house for two years then secondly, I moved out, so did The Monster Zone. My home and the Haunt was located across from the Bob Devany Event Center. I was finally able to expand and the Haunt grew larger every year. The first year I had about 100 guests, a really low number I know but, considering I only advertised with flyers at the local grocery store and word of mouth, not bad. The second year I did the same for advertising but, our attendance record more than doubled! We had about 300 guests! In 2004 due to the fact of a new highway coming through I had to move again resulting in not being able to have the haunt that year. I moved to Palmyra, Nebraska and our property now consists of a whole city block of land. For 2005 my father and I constructed two 10' x 10' buildings and two large tunnels, not to mention tons of new props I made and even more I bought. As two different issues arose about two weeks before Halloween we had no choice but to heartbreakingly cancel the Haunt. The buildings and tunnels had to be taken down and stored for.

Even though I have not been able to have The Monster Zone for the last two years. I have spent that time learning. Searching the internet, talking to other haunters, buying haunt magazines and books on props, business, design, etc., going to haunt conventions, making new friends locally and on the internet that love Halloween and haunting, finding new products to make and improve props, making/building new props and improving old ones. I’m a sponge, I just love to absorb all the information on the haunting industry that I can, the more I can get my hands on the better! As a result of my “learning period” the next haunt will be phenomenal completely blowing 2003's haunt out of the water!!
